Common Questions:
Is this a weight loss program?
No, our program does not focus on weight loss, we focus on helping clients to develop a new way to manage life- stressors and triggers which have led to the cycle of binge-eating. We focus on helping the client understand why they binge (using cognitive behavioral therapy) and developing effective coping skills (using dialectical behavior therapy) along with nutritional counseling to learn how to plan, pick and prepare foods for every meal and in every environment.
Behavioral Nutrition’s unique and effective combination of therapy and nutritional counseling helps clients finally learn how to break binge eating and yo-yo dieting cycles, which often leads to increased weight gain.
What can I expect from treatment at Behavioral Nutrition?
You can expect to work with experienced and passionate clinicians (i.e. therapists and dietitians) who work to develop a holistic strategy for your individual needs.
How long will I need to be in treatment?
It depends on how quickly you find that you are no longer engaging in binging behaviors. Weekly sessions with a dietitian and therapist focuses on decreasing the frequency and intensity of binging episodes, which can result in improved symptoms within months.
