Eating disorders are complex mental illnesses that often require help from a Nutritionist.
Reaching out to a friend or family member to talk about unhealthy eating habits can be a good
way to get on the right track but sometimes more focused Eating Disorder Treatment is needed.
Here are a few tips for recovering from an eating disorder that we’ll go over during the
workshop.

Be patient
Recovery from disordered eating takes time, and it isn't easy. There are often bumps in the
process and it can be a good idea to reach out to a nutritionist if you’re having a particularly
rough day.

Ask for Help
Nutritionists and Behavioral Therapists at Behavioral Nutrition are available to help with Eating
Disorder Treatment but they aren't the only people that can help you. Many people find that their
family and friends are eager to support them during the disordered eating recovery process.

Don’t be too hard on yourself
Negative emotions and feeling shameful can be increased by being too critical of yourself.
Beating yourself up over missteps goes along with other symptoms of disordered eating. Work
on staying positive and reach out to your nutritionist to help stay away from self-critical thoughts.

We’ll cover the self-care tips above and other strategies to develop healthy eating habits and
prevent eating disorders from becoming a problem at our October workshop. Sign up today for a
chance to go over these tips and many more to help on your journey to prevent disordered
eating.
